Govt to partner with varsities in commercializing research

CS Ezekiel Machogu views the body of Prof Nathan Ogechi's kin. He said the government will partner with universities to commercialize research.

Education Cabinet Secretary (CS) Ezekiel Machogu has said the government will partner with universities to identify opportunities for commercializing research.

Speaking in Nyaribari Masaba Constituency during the burial of Kisii University VC Prof Nathan Ogechi’s kin, the CS said that the strategic partnership will streamline collaboration to attract investment that will create more wealth for the country.

“We are aware that research undertaken in our universities is the main source of innovation that boosts viability,” he said.

The CS acknowledged past experiences that when the government partnered with universities, they often produced best results in resolving health, economic and social issues.

He asked parents to invest in education to enable their children live a better life and take care of them during their old age.
