Governor Ntutu gifts bus to KNUT Narok Branch during AGM in landmark gesture

Narok Governor Patrick ole Ntutu donates a new bus to KNUT Narok Branch during the union’s Annual General Meeting.

The Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Narok Branch held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the William Ole Ntimama Stadium in Narok town on Saturday, a highly attended event that brought together educators, government officials, and union leaders from across the region.

The highlight of the day was the presentation of a brand-new bus by Narok Governor Patrick ole Ntutu, who personally donated the vehicle to the KNUT Narok Branch to support teachers’ activities and welfare programs within the county.

The governor said the donation was a token of appreciation for the critical role teachers play in shaping the future of society through education.

Governor Ntutu noted that teachers remain the backbone of Kenya’s human resource development and deserve recognition for their dedication and service. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to working closely with the education sector to enhance learning outcomes across Narok County.

“This bus is a small way of showing our appreciation to teachers for their selfless service to our children. Education remains the greatest equaliser, and we must continue to support those who make it possible,” said Governor Ntutu.

The ceremony was graced by KNUT Secretary General Collins Oyuu, Samburu Governor Lati Lelelit, Narok Woman Representative, Rebecca Tonkei, Narok First Lady Agnes Ntutu KNUT Narok Branch Secretary Simiren Soyiantet, among other dignitaries.

Oyuu commended Governor Ntutu for his generosity and goodwill toward the teaching fraternity, stating that the gesture clearly demonstrated leadership that values education and the welfare of teachers.

He also called for strengthened collaboration between county governments and KNUT to address challenges facing teachers at the grassroots level.

On her part, Tonkei and other speakers echoed similar sentiments, lauding the governor for setting an example in supporting teachers’ welfare and motivating them to deliver better results.

The event concluded with a renewed call for unity among teachers and stakeholders in the education sector to promote professionalism, discipline, and accountability in schools throughout Narok County.
