Police in Uriri are pursuing suspect linked to the death of a 17 year old female pupil at Rairi-Kamagambo Primary School who was on the weekend knifed to death at Rapogi centre.
Uriri subcounty police commander Mr.Peter Njoroge said the pupil was stabbed on the chest and neck by unidentified people and she died on the spot.
He said a watchman manning Queens Court Bar at Rapogi centers indicated that the deceased was stabbed by unidentified man whom he saw chasing her before landing on her with a knife at around 11pm after which the suspect fled the scene immediately after committing the felony.
Mr.Njoroge who visited the scene immediately the incident occurred said effort to hold on the pupil to life was futile since she had lost a lot of blood.
The sub county police commander said they are yet to arrest any suspect linked to the murder, however he said they are following some crucial leads expressing optimism that the killer will be arrested soon.
He also confirmed that the body of the deceased had been moved to Rapcom hospital mortuary in Awendo sub-county pending autopsy and police investigations
