Health officers in Bungoma are expected to fumigate Friends School Kamusinga after one student tested positive for the Covid-19.

The form four-student is reported to have showed abnormal signs which prompted immediate medical attention at Kimilili sub-county hospital where samples were extracted and sent to KEMRI for testing.

The results came positive thus forcing the school management to appeal for an aid from the County Government of Bungoma.

Speaking to Education Newspaper, County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Health and Sanitation Dr. Antony Walela said that the fumigation exercise will start tomorrow morning.

“This thing has raised eyebrows in Bungoma but the county leadership has equipped its health workers,” he affirmed Dr. Walela.

He, however, urged parents and teachers to work closely and ensure that students are putting on face masks, wash hands and sanitize to help in averting the spread of the virus.

The student is currently admitted at Webuye County Hospital isolation center where he is undergoing treatment.
