The Chairman of Kamwana Foundation in Matungulu Constituency, Samuel Maithya, has donated food items to KCSE candidates in day schools in the region to use during the exam period.
With the KCSE exam expected to start next week, many parents have been crying out for help following crop failure in the region this year, caused by droughts and exacerbated by rising food prices nationwide.
Maithya, while distributing foodstuffs to several day schools in the area, said the initiative was aimed at supporting needy students during the exams, ensuring they could focus fully and no one went without food.
“Without assistance, many parents would be unable to adequately support their children during the exams, which could jeopardise their results,” he said while distributing the rice, cooking oil and chapati flour at Mukengesya Day School.
