Former CS Machogu speaks after President Ruto dissolves Cabinet

Former Cabinet Secretary (CS)  Ezekiel Machogu for Education has issued a statement moments after being sacked.

In a statement shared on X, Machogu thanked President William Ruto for entrusting and giving him an opportunity to serve the people of Kenya under his administration.

“For nearly 20 months, I have had a fulfilling and highly enriching experience serving as Cabinet Secretary of one of Kenya’s most important sectors – Education. I wish to thank HE the President, Dr William Samoei Ruto, for trusting me with this honour, and I owe it to him for all the major milestones we achieved within such a short time as we provided education to our gallant children,” he said.

Machogu is among the 21 Cabinet Secretaries who were fired on Thursday, July 11 by President Ruto who promised to form a new government.

Former Education CS meeting university student leaders on Wednesday July 10.

The last duty Machogu carried out was meeting the University student leaders from various public and private universities on Wednesday July 10 where the students wanted clarity on new funding model.

“In the spirit of embracing dialogue as as duly guided by HE The President Hon. Dr. William Ruto, today I engaged University student leaders from various public and private universities. The leaders sought clarity on among other issues;The New Funding Model, support to form a national students body and involvement in decision making process on issues affecting students. ,” Machogu said during the meeting.
