More than 12 primary schools in Saboti Constituency are set to benefit from new footballs distributed by the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Trans-Nzoia branch.

Speaking during the launch of the initiative at Kinyoro Primary School, FKF Trans-Nzoia chairman Isaac Munene said the program is designed to nurture talent from the grassroots.

Under the programme, each school will receive five footballs, with the distribution targeting institutions across the five sub-counties of Trans-Nzoia.

Munene explained that this marks the second phase of the project. In the first phase held last year, more than 50 schools received footballs, underscoring FKF’s commitment to expanding access to sports equipment in learning institutions.

Meanwhile, the FKF Trans-Nzoia County League has undergone reorganization, with 59 teams confirming participation this season. The teams have been grouped into five zones. Last year, 64 teams took part, but the number has dropped slightly after five teams were promoted to the North Rift Regional League.
