A family in Nandi County is appealing to the public for assistance in tracing a 14-year-old girl who has been missing for more than six months.

Learner Disappeared During School Holiday

Irine Chepleting, a Grade 8 learner at Kapsoya Junior Secondary School in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County, disappeared on November 19, 2025, while spending the November–December school holiday at Chebarbar in Nandi County.

According to her family, Irine had been staying with her sister in Chebarbar during the holiday break.

She normally resides in Eldoret with another sister to facilitate her schooling following the death of their mother.

Family Still Searching for Answers

Family members said Irine left home at around 6:00 a.m. on the day she went missing and has not been seen or heard from since.

Her disappearance was reported at Kapsabet Police Station, but efforts to trace her have so far been unsuccessful.

The prolonged absence of the young girl has left her family distressed and desperate for answers regarding her whereabouts.

Appeal to the Public

Her sister, Salome Jerubet, has appealed to anyone with information that could help locate Irine to contact the family or report to the nearest police station.
