Former Nyando Member of the National Assembly Clarkson Otieno Karan has launched a book detailing his life from the formative stages in the village, politics, and evangelism.
The book was launched at the Anglican Church in Migingo Nyando constituency, where Kisumu Central Member of the National Assembly Dr Joshua Oron was present.
According to Karan, he decided to write the book to make people understand his life fully.
Karan says the biography touches on some of his humble life in Migingo, how and where he went to school, and why he plunged into the murky waters of politics.
He was elected into parliament in 1992 until 1997, when he lost the seat to Paul Otita.
Karan also served as the Kisumu Mayor before representing the country at the East African Legislative Assembly.

The former MP, now a church minister, says the book explains all his decisions in life and why he made them.
For example, he says the book explains why the late former music legend Musa Juma composed a song about him without prior consultation.
He says the book also enumerates why he became polygamous, even though he came from a Christian background.
Karan says many Africans don’t like writing about themselves while still alive for unexplained reasons.
“That is why I decided to write the book so that people can know who Clarkson Otieno Karan is,” he says.
According to Karan, he mooted the idea of writing the book in 2015 but was initially discouraged.
He says he later approached a number of publishers who touted exorbitant prizes to assist him.
Karan says he later encountered somebody who offered to assist him with Sh 65,00, which he paid in instalments.
On the occasion, Dr Oron seized the opportunity to enumerate the progress made so far in terms of education infrastructure.
