Zetech University Vice Chancellor Prof Njenga Munene has advised students to join universities that have been ISO-certified for quality and world-class training.
Speaking at the university’s Ruiru campus while addressing the May 2023 intake students, the VC, urged students to select an institution of higher learning where knowledge is nurtured, dreams are made a reality, skills are honed and passions are turned to purpose.
He noted with pride that Zetech is ISO 9001:2015 certified and has a holistic approach to quality assurance.
“This standard in the educational field evaluates and certifies all processes related to teaching and student learning in order to guarantee the quality of the educational institutions,” he said, adding further that the university’s directorate of quality assurance conducts surveys and evaluations every semester to receive feedback from students on the levels of standards delivery.
Prof Munene averred that the institution has reaped multiple benefits from the ISO certification, including enhanced customer satisfaction and culture development.
“We are committed to ensure compliance with the ISO 9001:2015 standards and other internal and external regulatory requirements,” he said.
He noted that Zetech is an accredited Open, Distance and E-Learning (ODEL) institution.
“Given the ever-increasing competition among universities in the world today, ISO 9001 certified institutions are able to compete strongly with other institutions. This enables the university to standout, have a higher international rating and attract more reputable stakeholders,” he noted.
The university Deputy Vice Chancellor Prof Alice Njuguna called on students to integrate theory and practical skills so as to have a cutting-edge advantage in the job markets once they complete their studies.
She divulged that the university takes pride in its strong linkages and collaborations with industry experts which provide opportunities for internships, industrial placements and mentorship programmes.
“Connecting students with industry leaders opens doors to endless possibilities and paves the way for a rewarding career” she said.
She also reiterated that the ISO certification has boosted the university’s mission of providing world-class education, research and innovation for global transformation and sustainable development shaped by its vision of being ‘a global hub of excellence in education, research and innovation.
She quipped that the certification also helps the university to attain its set objectives.
