A Form Three student who lost his life in a tragic road accident at Tula area of Bangal, Garissa County, was laid to rest at his father’s home in Mwingi Central Sub-County, Kitui County.
Stephen Mbuvi, 17, was among the 14 people who died in the horrific accident. He was a student at Kathonzweni Day Secondary School in Mwingi, but met his death on his way to Wajir where he was going to report to his new school.
He was the firstborn in a family of four and a soccer player at Mwingi Junior Stars.
The team’s Manager, Bonventure Nzyuli said the team has lost a very promising and energetic young man.
“This is one of the biggest blow to us, but we can’t question God. We will continue nurturing talents,” he said.
Area Member of County Assembly, Mary Phillip eulogized the boy as humble and obedient.
