Do not politicize construction of Makemo TTI in Bungoma, MP warns leaders

Webuye East Member of Parliament Martin Wanyonyi has chided leaders politicizing construction of Makemo Technical Training Institute.

Speaking at St Teresa Special School for mentally challenged students in Webuye, the MP said the relevant authorities followed due process and the construction is underway.

The legislator accused a section of leaders from Webuye who are sabotaging the construction of the first technical training institute in the constituency.

“The government has already disbursed KSh10 million to kick start the construction,” said the MP.

At the same time, the MP issued a cheque to cater for school fees of 102 learners who are mentally challenged.

He further promised to upgrade infrastructure in schools across the constituency.

He also asked parents with children with disabilities not to hide them at home rather take them to school. “Every child has a right to education and is an offence to hide children at home yet are supposed to be in school,” he said.By Godfrey Wamalwa
