A shocking incident has been reported at Kalacha Girls Secondary School in Marsabit County, where the deputy principal was allegedly assaulted by parents following a disciplinary matter involving a student.
Preliminary reports indicate that the confrontation escalated after the administrator is said to have taken disciplinary action against a learner, prompting a group of parents to storm the institution and physically attack the school head.
The incident has sparked outrage among education stakeholders, with the Kenya Union of Post-Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) Marsabit branch strongly condemning the attack.
Branch Executive Secretary Sarr Galgalo described the assault as unacceptable and a serious threat to the safety of teachers in learning institutions.
Galgalo warned that teachers across Marsabit County may withdraw their services from the school if immediate action is not taken to guarantee their safety and restore order within the institution.
He further urged law enforcement agencies to move swiftly and investigate the incident, insisting that teachers must be protected as they carry out their professional duties.
