Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba will on Friday, January 30, preside over the second joint vocational training graduation ceremony at Kiprugut Chumo Stadium in Kericho County.
The ceremony, scheduled to begin at 9 a.m., will be hosted by Kericho County Governor Dr. Erick Mutai and is expected to bring together graduates, parents, instructors, county officials and representatives from the national government.
Hundreds of trainees will be conferred with certificates after successfully completing various technical and skills-based programmes, including tailoring, electrical installation, plumbing, masonry, welding, motor vehicle mechanics, hairdressing and information communication technology.
The event highlights the growing emphasis on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) as a practical solution to youth unemployment and a key driver of economic development.

County education officials noted that vocational training equips learners with hands-on, market-ready skills that enhance employability and promote entrepreneurship.
The joint graduation marks a significant milestone in Kericho County’s efforts to strengthen skills development and aligns with the national government’s agenda of expanding access to quality vocational education.
Members of the public have been invited to attend the ceremony and witness graduands transition into the workforce and self-employment.
