CS Ogamba leads effort to ensure secure, transparent KCSE examinations nationwide

Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to upholding the integrity of national examinations and ensuring fairness for all candidates across Kenya.

His remarks came after witnessing the opening of the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) secure container at the office of the Kisauni Deputy County Commissioner in Mombasa County today as part of a nationwide effort to ensure the secure handling of examination materials before they are delivered to exam centres.

Following the inspection, the CS proceeded to Hassan Joho Girls Secondary School to observe firsthand the administration and supervision of the ongoing national examinations.

The visit is part of a nationwide monitoring exercise designed to guarantee a smooth, transparent, and credible examination process for all students.

The Ministry’s oversight strategy involves collaboration with multiple agencies, including law enforcement, school administration officials, and KNEC personnel, to safeguard examination integrity at every stage, from storage and distribution of examination papers to the actual sitting of exams by students.

CS Ogamba emphasized that this proactive approach demonstrates the government’s determination to prevent malpractice, maintain high standards, and ensure that every candidate has an equal opportunity to succeed.
