CS Machogu officiates Tana River’s Garsen Education Day

Parents, teachers and students of Kipini Girls High in Tana River County hosted many guests during Garsen Constituency Education Day held on Saturday July 6.

The occasion that was presided over by Cabinet Secretary for Education Ezekiel Machogu was also attended by education professionals from the region led by the area MPs, MCAs and the Principal of the school.

Education Secretary Machogu, highlighted the importance of observing education days in all institutions of learning because they provide stakeholders with opportunity to reflect on the progress and achievements they have made in the education sector besides recognizing and rewarding the performance of various actors.

“Through the recognition of performers as pacesetters in the education sector we are able to set standards and chart way forward for a better future of the education sector recognized as the most critical resource in the country,” he said.

Machogu handed over a school bus funded by the NG-CDF to the school.

Garsen MP Ali Wario Hashaka reiterated his NG-CDF office will give priority to education development because it is the backbone of development.

Education CS Ezekiel Machogu hands a bus to Kipini Girls bought by CDF funds.

“We know that education is the base and foundation of any development that is why my development committee chose to give it priority,” he said.

The MP promised to fund students from poor homes to access quality education and asked his NG-CDF committee members to exhibit equity, transparency and accountability during the allocation of education bursary money to the applicants.

He asked students to remain disciplined through self-control in order to prosper in their future lives.
