CS Machogu bets big on AI to transform education

Cabinet Secretary for Education Dr Ezekiel Machogu has stressed the need for Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the education sector because it gives opportunity to streamline administrative processes, personalize learning experiences, foster interactive environments and provides valuable data driven- insights.

The CS welcomed the application and said that it will ultimately contribute to a more efficient, adaptive and student- centred educational landscape.

Machogu made the remarks during East Africa Sub-Region Forum on Artificial Intelligence under the theme “Harnessing AI for sustainable development in East Africa: Governance, Ethics, Capacities and Partnership” at Edge Convention Centre, Nairobi.

He said that AI is important in the modern world because of the proliferation of data and the maturity of other innovations in cloud processing and other computing power.

“Artificial Intelligence adoption is growing faster than ever and companies now have access to unprecedented amount of data,” he said.

He added that AI can accomplish a single task to a set of related tasks that include weather apps, digital assistants and softeners that analyze data to optimize a given business function.

He asked the youth to put more effort in the study science subjects to enable them grasp scenic ideas and utilized them in the ever growing global technologies for their prosperity.

“Use of the technology is now widespread event unto outdoor steps it either we deny it and perish in poverty or embrace it and prosper,” he said.
