Cleric asks parents to instill discipline in children

Parents in Kilifi County have been urged to assist teachers in instilling discipline in their children.

Speaking while conducting special prayers for 2022 KCSE candidates at PEFA Church in Malanga, Malindi  Sub-county, Reverend Justus Karani Randu  urged parents to dispense their responsibilities, lamenting that many of them leave it exclusively to teachers.

“You are therefore duty bound to ensure that your children maintain high standards of discipline both at school and at home,” Randu told parents.

He noted that the behaviour of every young child   begins from childhood.

Rev. Randu said discipline is the only key to success, warning against drinking of alcohol and consumption of drugs, among other vices.

He attributed the dismal performance in national examinations in the county to illicit drugs among students.

At the same time, Randu urged parents to monitor closely the movements of their children so as to know exactly their whereabouts at any one particular time.

He asked them to counsel and guide them for a better behavior in society.
