A charity organization has constructed a Sh7.5 million worth Digital Laboratory at Nyamagwa SDA Secondary School in Ibeno Ward, Nyaribari Chache Constituency of Kisii County to boost education standards.

The state of the art laboratory was put up in honor of the late former Cabinet Minister Simeon Nyachae.

This digital center will also serve the community and students from nearby primary schools, with a capacity to accommodate up to 50 learners at a time.

The project was carried out by the Andrew Wemyss Trust Group, which has also installed boreholes in the area in memory of the late Nyachae.

Thaddeus Matoke, the school’s Principal, expressed that this project will significantly improve digital learning at the school and will promote digital literacy in the community, saying, “The Government is keen on digital learning. We are providing space for learning and will not limit access to our facility.”

Ibeno Ward MCA Steve Arika, a former close associate of the late Nyachae, mentioned that the Trust has undertaken various projects in honour of the former Cabinet Minister.

The late Nyachae’s elder daughter Grace Nyachae, Silas Njiwakale, Peter Belsoi, and Andrew Wemyss are listed as trustees.

According to Arika, this digital laboratory is the first of many that will be built in the area to support digital learning.

He stated, “This is just the beginning. Our focus is on school-going children, both primary and secondary.
