Cardinal Otunga High School in Mosocho, Kisii County, and Nyambaria Boys in Nyamira County have received accolades from the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) for their exceptional performance in the 2022 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Examination (KCSE).

Speaking to Education News in Kisii town yesterday, the Principal lauded the Commission for recognizing the teachers during the celebration saying, the awards motivated them work harder to maintain or surpass the performance.

“I thank stakeholders for supporting the school and urge parents and guardians to guide their children shun drug and alcohol abuse which will ruin their education and performance in examinations” Ombiro said.

He highlighted that all candidates from both schools met the requirements for university admission, attributing this remarkable achievement to the collaborative efforts of parents, teachers, sponsors, and education officers.

The Principal further announced that the school is gearing up to present 433 candidates to the Kenya Examination Council (KNEC) this year, with the ambitious goal of achieving at least a Grade B.

Additionally, he noted that Nyambaria Boys also made a significant mark as the top-performing school in the 2022 KCSE, with all 488 candidates achieving an impressive mean score of 10.89 while at his school, 330 candidates secured a commendable mean score of 10.76.

Ombiro also highlighted that 28 students from Nyambaria Boys achieved A plain grades, 383 earned A-minus, 76 attained B-plus, and one student received a B plain grade—an exceptional feat that firmly positions these schools on the national education landscape.
