A youthful leader in Bomet County has stepped in to address sanitation challenges at Chebamban Primary School by constructing modern latrine facilities, in a move aimed at improving hygiene and learning conditions for pupils.
Bildad Cheruiyot, popularly known as Matubariat, undertook the initiative at the school located in Motigo Sub-location, Silibwet township ward in Bomet Central sub-county.
The project is expected to significantly ease the burden on learners who previously faced inadequate sanitation facilities.
Speaking ahead of the official handover scheduled for tomorrow, Cheruiyot said the project was inspired by the need to create a safe and dignified learning environment for children.
He noted that access to proper sanitation is essential in promoting health, reducing absenteeism, and enhancing overall academic performance.
The school administrators and members of the local community have welcomed the initiative, describing it as timely and impactful.
They expressed optimism that the new facilities will help curb hygiene-related illnesses and provide a more conducive environment, especially for younger pupils.
Residents in the area have lauded Cheruiyot’s efforts, terming him a committed and action-oriented youth leader who is focused on addressing real community needs.
They called on other leaders and stakeholders to emulate such grassroots-driven development initiatives.
