A high level delegation from Bomet University College, led by Vice Chancellor Prof. Charles Mutai, has held a consultative meeting with the National Defence University–Kenya (NDU-K) in Lanet, Nakuru County, aimed at strengthening institutional collaboration in key areas of education and research.
The delegation was warmly received by the Vice Chancellor of National Defence University–Kenya, Lt Gen David Tarus, who lauded the initiative as a timely step towards building stronger academic linkages between civilian and defence oriented institutions.
The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in academic excellence, joint research programmes, innovation, and institutional capacity building.
Both institutions also explored opportunities for knowledge exchange, staff development, and collaborative training programmes designed to address emerging national and global challenges.
Academic partnerships
According to the leadership of Bomet University College, the engagement marks a strategic milestone in the institution’s efforts to expand its academic footprint and strengthen partnerships that support quality education, applied research, and innovation driven learning.
Prof. Charles Mutai emphasised the importance of building strong networks with institutions of higher learning that bring diverse expertise and experience, noting that such collaborations will significantly benefit students, faculty, and the broader academic community.
Future cooperation
On his part, Lt Gen David Tarus welcomed the partnership proposal, underscoring NDU-K’s commitment to working with universities to advance research, leadership development, and national security related scholarship.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to develop a formal framework that will guide future cooperation between the two institutions, including possible Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) to operationalise joint programmes.
