Residents of Kimori Village in Mogogosiek Ward, Konoin Sub-County in Bomet County are in distress following the disappearance of a Form Three student from Simoti Secondary School who went missing on Thursday evening.

The student, identified as Emmaculate Cherop, reportedly left home at around 4 p.m. after being sent to a nearby shop to buy flour but never returned.

Her family and neighbours launched an overnight search after she failed to return back home, but their efforts yielded no results.

According to her parents, Cherop was last seen wearing her school tracksuit and carrying a small bag.  The family described her as a calm and responsible girl who rarely stayed out late without informing them.

“We became worried when she didn’t return after dark. We called relatives and friends, but no one had seen her,” said one family member.
