Bobasi Varsity and College students get Kshs 30M in NG-CDF bursary

Students from Bobasi Constituency learning in various University and colleges have benefitted with Ksh30 Million from NG-CDF education bursary fund.

Area MP Vincent Obiri, while releasing the fund to various students, regretted about the delay in release of the fund to the needy recipients cleared by his office saying that the money delayed because of the government’s failure to release the money early from treasury.

“We are committed to serving our people with transparency and accountability with little we get from the government.” he said.

Some students from the constituency who study at Kisii University paid a courtesy call to Nyamache NG-CDF office and shared with workers on the smooth learning of the office towards efficient facilitation of their education through the education funds.

Led by their leaders Geoffrey Omwansa and Gladys Kerubo they praised the cordial relationship between the office and University students.

“We visited the office not with demands to serve but a cordial meeting on how we can work together and we are happy of the reception we were given.” said Omwansa.

The students rather, decried the little amount of money they received this time saying it was too little to be distributed among the University and College students.

The Kisii University students further revealed that they held a consultative meeting with their colleagues from middle colleges and agreed to share the NG-CDF education bursary funds in turns.

“We agreed that the University students who applied for money to be given the whole Kshs 30 million then those in middle level colleges will have theirs in the subsequent disbursements.” said Kwamboka.

They thanked their college colleagues for accepting the proposal and promised to join hands for the collective development of their constituency.
