- The former students make the commitment as they prepare to give their colleague Cyrus Moenga a befitting send-off.

The alumni of Bishop Mugendi Nyakegogi High School have promised to remain in solidarity at all times for the purpose of encouraging one another in life, helping their school grow and giving back to the community when need arises.
Led by Josh Ogega, they spoke at the school as they convened to plan the way forward for the send-off of one of their own, Cyrus Moenga, Class of 2015, who perished in a road accident.
They remembered him as a very active team player as he played for the school soccer team and later emerged as a prominent businessman in his later life until his demise.
Alumni remember former school footballer
According to his former classmates, Moenga was known for his warm and sociable nature. He was friendly, approachable and always ready to share a light moment with colleagues, a trait that made him popular both in class and on the football pitch.
Beyond his social charm, they described him as a man of great empathy, who always stood with friends during difficult times, offered wise counsel and supported those in need without hesitation. He was humble, generous, hardworking and a unifier who believed in teamwork and brotherhood.
The alumni said his death is a big blow to the Bishop Mugendi Nyakegogi family and to the business community where he had established himself as a promising young entrepreneur.
They appealed to their colleagues who are living in various parts of the world to give a hand at this time of need in the ongoing meetings meant for his befitting send-off.
Alumni appeal for road safety
They also appealed to motorists to be more careful on the road in order to avoid causing more deaths through road carnage.

Moenga is survived by a widow and two small children.
