“Insecurity has disrupted education for too long. Turning Kalabata into a model school will restore hope and show that development can defeat violence,” Makilap said.

The region has witnessed ongoing insecurity, forcing both teachers and students to flee for safety.

Learning activities have been severely affected, with some schools remaining closed. Parents and teachers have increasingly voiced their frustration, warning that they may withdraw entirely if the government fails to restore security.

Makilap assured residents that efforts are underway to complete the Kalabata project swiftly and called on all stakeholders to work together to ensure a safe and stable learning environment.
