Avoid spreading propaganda on JSS, parents told

Makueni Sub County Director of Education (SCDE) Yophes Magara has called on Makueni residents to avoid spreading misinformation regarding Junior Secondary School (JSS) and instead support the government’s efforts to actualize the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).

“I urge those who are still against JSS to kindly visit schools to get the right information. We are trying all we can to see its success. Any problem noticed is just a teething problem which will be looked at in due time,” Magara said.

Speaking at Malivani AIC Boarding (Primary and JSS) School, the Director encouraged teachers to ensure they leave a positive impact wherever they go.

He disclosed that the school attained a score of 97 per cent during JSS inspection and urged parents, teachers and students to maintain the status of the school.

Magara praised the head teacher Joshua Mutuse and his teaching staff for working hard to attain a mean grade of 344 in the 2022 KCPE exams contributing to the sub county’s mean of 272.

The school head condemned the Supreme Court’s ruling allowing LGBTQ+ members to form associations and instructed parents to monitor their children against immoral movements and behaviours.
