Australia Awards Scholarships: Applications open for Kenyan students

The Australian High Commission through the department of Foreign Affairs has announced that applications for the 2025 Australia Awards Scholarships round are now open.

The priority areas are climate change, agriculture and food security, mining and energy and gender, disability and social inclusion.

Through a letter dated February by the Ministry of Public Service, Gender and Affirmative Action dated February 28, 2024 and directed to all Principal Secretaries.

The notice indicated that the applicant should be less than 25 years on February 1, 2025 and whose work and responsibilities are relevant to apply for the courses online through OASIS at oasis.dfat.gov.au/.

The application is open to all. Female and person with disabilities eligible are encouraged to apply. The application closes on April 30, 2024.

The detailed eligibility requirements are well outlined in the Australia Award Scholarships policy Handbook available online.

Since 2004, over 2000 scholars from African countries have studied in Australia under the Australia Awards Scholarship programme. This includes over 1000 postgraduate scholars who have taken Masters and degrees in Australia.

Australia Awards are open to high calibre, mid to senior level professional applicants from the public, private and community sectors (civil society).
