A cloud of sorrow has engulfed Epanja village in Esat Wanga Ward of Kakamega County following the sudden demise of 19-year old Calistus Wamboye Oteu, a KCSE candidate at Ebubere Secondary School.
The tragedy has shaken the small community and left many members and friends in deep grief.
According to his parents Patrick and Dorcas Oteu, Calistus left home on Tuesday morning full of life accompanied by his sibling who is doing the same exam.

The loss has left the family in shock as the boy had not shown any prior signs of illness. His parents, still reeling in shock, have made a heartfelt appeal for support from the government and any well-wishers.They hope for both emotional and financial assistance to navigate the sudden burden brought by this devastating event.
Calistus’s body has been moved to St Mary’s morgue in Mumias where a postmortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death. The community anxiously awaits the results, which they hope will shed light on what led to this untimely loss.
