KUCCPS has streamlined the process, offering two convenient methods for students to confirm their placement status:
Online via the KUCCPS Student Portal: This is the primary and most comprehensive method.
Step 1: Access the Portal. Open your web browser and navigate to the official KUCCPS website at students.kuccps.net.
Step 2: Log In. On the top right corner of the page, click on the “Student Portal.” You will be prompted to enter your login credentials:
Your KCSE Index Number.
Your KCSE Year (which is 2024 for the recently placed cohort).
Your Password. This will be either your birth certificate number or the KCPE index number you used during your KCSE registration.

Step 3: View Your Placement. Once successfully logged in, a congratulatory message will appear on your dashboard if you have been placed. This message will clearly display the course you’ve been allocated and the institution where you’ve secured a spot. Remember to log out of your account after checking your results for security.
Via SMS (Short Message Service): For quick verification, an SMS option is available.
Step 1: Compose the Message. Open your phone’s SMS application.
Step 2: Enter Your Index Number. Type your KCSE index number, ensuring it starts with the year you sat your KCSE exams (e.g., 2024XXXXXXXX). Do not include any spaces or slashes.
Step 3: Send to the Designated Number. Send this SMS to 20842.
Step 4: Receive Confirmation. You will receive an SMS response containing your placement details. Please note that this is a premium SMS service, and standard charges will apply.
Confirming your placement is just the first step. The next crucial action is to acquire your official admission letter. This document is indispensable for your enrolment and registration at your assigned university or college.
