Pain, grief and disbelief engulfed Geto estate after a 15-year old girl’s body was found lying inside a church.
According to the area village elder Mr. Samuel Awiti, the deceased who had only stayed with her aunt for three days before her untimely death had a swelling on her neck thus indicating that she was strangled by the attacker.
Mr. Awiti, however, called on the police to lead the investigation and bring the attackers to the book.
According to the minor’s aunt, Ms. Beaty Odhiambo, she left the deceased together with her two other children in the house and locked the house from outside.
“I had locked the door from outside leaving the girl with my children inside yesterday night but when I came back in the morning the door was still locked from outside but the girl was missing,” said Ms Odhiambo.
The question on how the victim might have gotten out has remained unclear.
The deceased was a form one student at Siro Girls Secondary School.
The body has, been moved to Migori Referral Hospital Mortuary pending autopsy.
