As schools remain closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, people have raised different concerns about food in school stores.

However, Kitui County overseer of Gospel Outreach Churches Bishop Isaac Kithome has urged the schools to dispose of the food as the government plans on reopening.

“They can do that or take it through a government certified process of health to avoid the risk of poisoning. By the time of reopening, the food will have overstayed in stores hence not good for consumption,” said the Bishop.

He called upon the Ministry of Education to be too vigilant on that to ensure the safety of the learners.

Bishop Isaac Kithome, a teacher by profession, called upon his colleagues to utilize this time of Covid-19 pandemic to build a strong bond with their families.

“I urge teachers not to abdicate their role at this time when schools are closed and serve the community differently through counseling, mentorship programs, and general leadership,” emphasized Bishop Kithome.
