A Narok legislator has appealed to Education Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohammed to introduce a subject in the country’s syllabus specifically on Kenyan heroes and heroines as a way of immortalising them for their role in the nation’s liberation.
Speaking at Osim Country Lodge in Narok, nominated MP David ole Sankok said the young generation born after 1990s might not be aware of Kenya’s heroes and heroines adding that having it as a subject will make them know their country’s history well.
He also challenges writers to compile all of Kenya’s political, social and economic icons and document them in one book so that it can be used as a set book in secondary schools.
