The boda boda business in Kisii and Nyamira counties has really affected the boy-child education as compared to girl-child education, a Kisii Land Economist and Valuer has claimed.
Speaking to Education News in her offices, Rachel Otundo said that there is a pressing trend that is really bringing down boy child education in recent times mostly with concern on boda boda business.
“I have really watched and more boda boda riders are young boys who have dropped out of school,” she said.
She termed the scenario as uncalled for saying that the society and nongovernmental organizations have not done much concerning elevating the academic standards of the boy child.
“The government should come in handy to curb the trend or at the end of it all we will have a society of more learned women versus non learned men which will be a mess even in building families”, she explained.
