TSC Kisumu County Director leads teachers in regional tree-planting exercise ahead of Nyanza Teachers’ Open Day

TSC Kisumu County Director Frederick Mwaniki demonstrated leadership and commitment during the World Teachers’ Tree Planting Day for the Nyanza Region, held at Diemo Senior School in Seme Sub-County.

His active participation and presence at the forefront of the event reflected the importance of environmental responsibility, teamwork and meaningful engagement with teachers and education stakeholders.

The event brought together the TSC Regional Director, Kenya Primary School Heads Association (KEPSHA), Kenya Secondary School Heads Association (KESSHA), Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) Kisumu County leadership, Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Kisumu County leadership and teachers, providing a platform for collaboration and unity within the education sector.

Teachers converge for Open Day

Teachers from Primary, Junior School and Senior School are expected to attend the TSC Nyanza Region Teachers’ Open Day-cum-Fun Day on October 1, 2026, at Kit Mikayi Comprehensive School.

The Open Day is part of regional activities organised ahead of World Teachers’ Day, with similar activities taking place in other regions.

The participation of teachers across the three levels provides an opportunity for educators to interact, network, celebrate their profession and strengthen unity.

Mwaniki’s engagement with teachers during the activities reflects the spirit of service, consultation and togetherness needed to strengthen cohesion within the teaching profession.
