- MoE has launched phase two of its e-GP training programme, targeting public secondary school stakeholders who missed the first phase.
- The Ministry has directed Regional, County and Sub-County Directors of Education to facilitate participation by head teachers, bursars, storekeepers and BOM chairpersons.
- The training aims to strengthen procurement compliance, governance and accountability in schools in line with the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act, 2015.
The Ministry of Education (MoE) will roll out the second phase of a nationwide training programme on the Electronic Government Procurement System (e-GP), targeting stakeholders in public secondary schools across the country.
According to a circular dated September 25, 2026, the three-day sponsored training will begin on Monday, September 28, 2026, and will be implemented progressively across the 47 counties in successive batches.
The programme, being undertaken in reference to a communication from the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA), targets education sector stakeholders who did not benefit from the first phase of the training.
Those targeted include head teachers and principals, bursars and accounts officers, storekeepers, supply chain officers and chairpersons of Boards of Management.

The Ministry said the training will equip participants with essential knowledge and practical skills relating to their roles and responsibilities in the Electronic Government Procurement System, in accordance with the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act, 2015. The second phase will focus on public secondary schools that were not covered during the initial training programme.
The initiative is intended to strengthen institutional effectiveness, leadership, governance and compliance in public schools, while supporting national education sector priorities on decentralisation, accountability and professional development.
The ministry said the training is part of efforts to enhance capacity among education sector personnel involved in public procurement and ensure they understand the requirements and procedures of the electronic procurement system.

The circular, signed by Principal Secretary John Ololtuaa, was addressed to Regional Directors of Education, County Directors of Education and Sub-County Directors of Education for implementation. The training will be conducted in successive batches across the country, with the Ministry calling on education officials to facilitate participation by the targeted stakeholders.
