Teachers Service Commission (TSC) Commissioner Wilson Sossion has called for stronger collaboration between the commission, teachers’ unions and educators to improve service delivery and strengthen the education sector.
Sossion made the remarks on Friday when he paid a courtesy call to Litein High School in Kericho County, where he held an interactive session with teachers.
The meeting provided an opportunity for teachers to raise issues concerning their welfare, professionalism and working environment while engaging directly with the commissioner.
Sossion calls for dialogue
Sossion, a former Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) secretary-general, said a cordial relationship between the commission, unions and teachers was important in addressing challenges facing educators and improving learning outcomes.
He urged teachers and education stakeholders to maintain dialogue and cooperation in resolving issues affecting the profession.
Sossion also congratulated teachers at Litein High School for the institution’s consistent academic performance, describing the school as an important centre of educational excellence in Kericho County and the Rift Valley region.
Teachers who attended the engagement welcomed the session, saying it provided an opportunity for open discussions on matters affecting them and the teaching profession.
The school administration thanked Mr Sossion for visiting the institution and reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining high standards of discipline, professionalism and academic excellence.

The commissioner’s visit comes as the TSC continues to engage teachers and other education stakeholders on issues relating to service delivery and the welfare of educators.
