Kabarnet Boys High School has welcomed a new principal, Boaz Adit, who has assumed office with an ambitious target of improving the institution’s academic performance and restoring its former position among leading schools in Baringo County.
Adit officially took over the leadership of the school during a ceremony attended by students, teachers, members of the Board of Management and education officials from Baringo County and the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
The transition followed a formal handover and takeover exercise conducted last week to pave the way for the new administration.
The school’s Board of Management, chaired by Lawrence Kibet, welcomed Adit and pledged its support as he begins his tenure.
Adit joins Kabarnet Boys High School with 17 years of experience in school leadership. He has previously served as principal of Ambira High School in Siaya County, as well as Otieno Oyoo and Koyonzo schools.
Addressing about 1,500 students and members of staff, Adit said his administration would work closely with teachers, learners, parents, the Board of Management and other stakeholders to improve academic outcomes.
He has set a target mean score of 9.7 in the 2026 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE), a significant improvement from the school’s mean score of 6.83 recorded in the 2025 examination.
Adit said the target was achievable through teamwork, discipline, effective teaching and learning, and strong collaboration among all stakeholders.
He said one of his priorities would be to restore the school’s academic reputation and position it among the leading institutions in the region.
Restoring school’s academic standing
Kabarnet Boys High School was historically one of the leading schools in Baringo and, during its peak, competed at the national level with institutions such as Kapsabet Boys from the 1970s.
However, its academic performance declined over the years, prompting renewed efforts to revive its fortunes.
The new administration is expected to place greater emphasis on academic excellence, discipline, teamwork and stakeholder engagement as Kabarnet Boys High School begins a new chapter under Adit’s leadership.
