KUPPET Bomet Branch Gender Secretary Evalyne Chepkirui Sanguya has called on the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to improve transparency in the promotion exercise by publicly disclosing the number of slots allocated to each county for every cadre.
Sanguya said making the county allocations public would promote transparency, fairness and equity in the distribution of promotion opportunities while also building teachers’ confidence in the process. She said teachers needed to know the number of positions available in their respective counties to enable them to prepare adequately and plan for their career progression.

The call comes as teachers across the country attend TSC promotional interviews for various job cadres. The union official also wished all teachers attending the interviews success, describing the exercise as an opportunity to reap the benefits of their hard work, dedication and years of service to learners and the country. She urged candidates to approach the interviews with confidence and ensure they have all the required documents. “Go in confidence. Prepare the required documents well, and may God grant you favour before the panel,” she said.
Sanguya said teachers had earned the opportunity through years of selfless service and expressed confidence that many would emerge successfully from the exercise. “We are praying for your success, and we are proud of you,” she said. She reiterated that publishing county-level allocations for each cadre would strengthen accountability and ensure teachers have greater clarity about the promotion opportunities available to them.
