A family in Makindu, Makueni County, is appealing for help in tracing their Form Three daughter who went missing nearly three weeks ago after attending a church fellowship event.
Lucy Wanza Kivindu, a student at St Mary’s Secondary School, Kinyambu, was last seen on Saturday, August 22, 2026, while attending a fellowship organised by the African Inland Church (AIC) in the neighbouring Miangeni area. Lucy, who hails from Miambani village in the Kiu area of Makindu Sub-County, did not return home after the event, prompting her family and members of the community to launch a search for her.

According to the family, they have made efforts to establish her whereabouts by contacting her friends, schoolmates and other people who may have interacted with her on the day she disappeared, but the search has so far yielded no breakthrough. Her disappearance has left relatives deeply worried, with the family appealing to anyone who may have information that could help establish where she is to come forward. Community leaders have also urged residents to remain vigilant and share any information that could assist in locating the teenager.
The family has asked anyone who has seen Lucy or knows anything concerning her whereabouts to contact them on 0721 348 225 or 0714 387 201, or report the information to the nearest police station. The family said any information, however small, could prove crucial in helping reunite Lucy with her loved ones.
