For nine years, Julius Ndirangu stood at the helm of Kabarnet Boys High School. Now, the baton has changed hands.
Kabarnet Boys High School has entered a new era following the official handover of leadership from Julius Ndirangu to Boaz Adit, bringing an important chapter in the institution’s history to a close.
The transition was formally completed during a handover ceremony attended by officials from the Baringo County Directorate of Education and the Teachers Service Commission (TSC), setting the stage for a new administration at the Baringo-based school.
Ndirangu’s departure follows the latest administrative changes by the TSC that saw him transferred from Kabarnet Boys to Elburgon Mixed Secondary School in Nakuru County, where he is expected to take up his new assignment.
Nine years is a long time in the life of a school.
During that period, a principal does not merely occupy an office. He becomes part of the institution’s story—working alongside teachers, interacting with parents, guiding learners and making decisions that can shape the direction of a school for years to come.
For Ndirangu, the nine-year tenure at Kabarnet Boys now belongs to history.
He leaves behind an institution he led through a period of growth and development, handing over the responsibility of steering the school to his successor.
His transfer therefore represents more than an ordinary administrative movement. It marks the conclusion of a leadership era.
The baton goes to Adit
Taking over the reins is Boaz Adit, who joins Kabarnet Boys from Ambira Boys High School in Siaya County.
Adit arrives with experience in school administration and now inherits the responsibility of leading an institution with its own traditions, expectations and ambitions.
His appointment comes at a time when school leadership has become increasingly demanding.
Modern principals are expected to be academic leaders, disciplinarians, administrators, mentors and strategic managers—all while responding to the evolving needs of learners, teachers and parents.
Adit will consequently have to balance continuity with change.
He will be expected to protect what works, address emerging challenges and develop a leadership agenda capable of taking Kabarnet Boys into its next phase.
For teachers and learners, a change of principal inevitably brings a mixture of curiosity and expectation.
There will be questions about the new administration’s priorities.
Will academic programmes receive a fresh push?
How will discipline be managed?
What new strategies will be introduced?
How will staff and learners respond to the new leadership style?
These questions will only be answered with time.
But one thing is already clear: the leadership clock at Kabarnet Boys has been reset.
Ndirangu’s next chapter
As Ndirangu begins his new assignment at Elburgon Mixed Secondary School, he carries with him nine years of experience accumulated at Kabarnet Boys.
Leadership transitions can be emotional, particularly after many years in one institution.
Yet they also provide an opportunity for renewal—not only for the incoming administration but also for the outgoing leader as he takes his experience into a new environment.
For Kabarnet Boys, meanwhile, the focus now shifts firmly to the future.
Adit has taken over the office.
The files have changed hands.
The responsibility has changed hands.
And with it comes the expectation that the new administration will build on the institution’s journey while charting its own course.
After nine years, an era has ended at Kabarnet Boys.
Now, under Boaz Adit, a new chapter begins.
