Friends Vihiga Boys High School has been celebrating a wave of achievements from second-term co-curricular activities, with the school’s Chief Principal receiving a haul of awards on August 28, 2026, including the Western Region boys’ title in Safaricom’s 2026 Chapa Dimba football tournament, season five.
This was after the school’s team dubbed Vihiga Cranes defeated Musokoto Secondary School 1-0 during the finals played at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) Kanduyi in Bungoma County this August, which saw Vihiga Cranes emerging victorious to claim the regional championship.

The School also won several trophies during the 98th National Music Festival that was held at Kibabi University between August 1 – 14, 2026, where the school emerged champions in three classes and runners-up in three classes, together with other trophies at the East African level in different disciplines.
Principal Albert Masiolo thanked the boys for the impressive performance, noting that the school now shifts its focus to academics, where it is targeting a mean of 8.4 during this year’s Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations
