Consequently, police have launched a manhunt for the woman who was reportedly in Ongwayo’s company shortly before his death. Investigators now aim to establish her identity and whereabouts as they piece together the events leading up to the teacher’s death.

Post-mortem to guide investigations

Authorities took Ongwayo’s body to Port Victoria Hospital mortuary, where it is being preserved pending a post-mortem examination. The autopsy is expected to establish the exact cause and manner of death, giving investigators crucial leads.

Meanwhile, police are also interviewing restaurant employees and other potential witnesses as part of efforts to reconstruct Ongwayo’s final moments.

The death has sent shockwaves through the Budalang’i community, with residents anxiously awaiting answers over the teacher’s sudden demise. Police have urged anyone with information that could assist the investigation to come forward.
