Ogamba reaffirms state support for public and private universities

  • CS Julius Ogamba has reaffirmed government support for public and private universities in Kenya.
  • International Leadership University-Kenya has dedicated its Kitengela campus and installed Prof. Kivutha Kibwana as Chancellor.
  • The event has brought together government officials and stakeholders, including MP Kakuta Ole Maimai and Justice Daniel Musinga.

Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos Ogamba has reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to supporting both public and private universities as they work to strengthen quality education, research and innovation.

The CS spoke after joining the International Leadership University-Kenya fraternity for the dedication of the university’s Kitengela campus and the installation of Prof. Kivutha Kibwana as the institution’s Chancellor. Universities, he said, remain critical in preparing skilled human capital, advancing research and innovation, and nurturing the leadership needed to drive Kenya’s national development agenda.

Ogamba assured institutions of higher learning that the Government will continue working closely with both public and private universities to build an environment that promotes quality teaching, research and innovation. “The Government will continue to work with and support both public and private universities in view of their vital role in advancing quality education, research and innovation and nurturing leadership for national development,” he said.

Prof. Kibwana’s installation as Chancellor marks a new chapter for International Leadership University-Kenya as the institution seeks to strengthen its contribution to higher education and leadership development.

The event drew university officials, government leaders and other stakeholders, including Kajiado East MP Kakuta Ole Maimai and Court of Appeal Judge Daniel Musinga. The dedication of the Kitengela campus is expected to enhance the university’s presence further and expand access to higher education in the region.
