Kisii University has postponed a section of the 2025/2026 academic year supplementary examinations that were scheduled to begin this week.

In a memo, the university’s Office of the Registrar, Academic Affairs, informed all affected students that examinations had been rescheduled to August 26, 27 and 28.

The university said the change affects only the examinations that were initially scheduled for the three dates.

“Students who were scheduled to sit for the 2025/2026 supplementary examinations on 17th, 18th and 19th August, 2026” will now sit the examinations on August 26, 27 and 28, the memo stated.

However, students scheduled to take supplementary examinations on August 20, 21, 24 and 25 have been advised that their examination dates remain unchanged.

The university urged affected students to take note of the revised timetable and make the necessary arrangements ahead of the new examination dates.

The notice was issued by the Acting Registrar, Academic Affairs, Prof. Kennedy Getange, and copied to the Vice Chancellor, Deputy Vice Chancellors, deans of schools, dean of students, heads of departments and the officer in charge of timetabling.

The university regretted any inconvenience caused by the change and thanked students for their understanding.

The rescheduling comes as universities across the country continue to manage examination timetables and academic activities for the 2025/2026 academic year.

Students affected by the changes have been encouraged to confirm their revised examination schedules with their respective schools or departments.

The university’s notice is expected to guide students who had planned to sit the affected supplementary examinations this week, allowing them to adjust their preparations and personal arrangements accordingly.

Students whose examinations fall on August 20, 21, 24 and 25 should proceed according to the original timetable, as the university has confirmed that those dates have not been changed.
