- Students have raised concerns over delays after the inter-university transfer deadline elapsed on August 14, with reporting dates now approaching.
- KUCCPS has assured students that delayed transfer letters will be issued once processing of their applications is complete.
The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has assured students awaiting transfer letters that the documents will be issued once processing of their applications is complete, amid growing concerns over delays as institutions prepare to admit new students.
The placement agency said the transfer process remains ongoing, following applications by students seeking to change the universities and colleges to which they were initially placed. KUCCPS said successful applicants would receive their transfer letters through the student portal, where they will be able to download the documents once generated.
“The processing of the transfer letters is ongoing. The letter will be generated automatically for download by the applicant through the student portal as soon as it is ready,” the agency said in response to a student seeking an update.
Students have been advised to regularly check their portals for updates on their applications and to download their letters as soon as they become available. The clarification comes after some students sought answers from KUCCPS following the elapse of the inter-university transfer deadline on August 14.

The transfer window had allowed students dissatisfied with their initial placements to apply for consideration at their preferred universities and colleges.
With reporting dates approaching, students awaiting outcomes of their applications remain concerned about when they will receive confirmation of their new placements. Students placed at the University of Nairobi, for instance, are expected to begin reporting from August 24, according to a notice issued by the institution, while other universities are expected to admit students toward the end of August and during the first week of September, in line with the Ministry of Education calendar.
Once their transfer letters are generated, successful applicants will be required to download them from the KUCCPS portal and present the documents when reporting to their new institutions.
