- PS Imbunya has donated four sets of her scholarly publications to MMUST to support teaching, learning and research.
- MMUST’s leadership, led by Vice Chancellor Prof Shibairo, has received the donation and praised its contribution to the university’s academic resources.
- The university has committed to making the materials available to its academic community for classroom instruction, independent study and scholarly research.
Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) has received four sets of scholarly publications donated by Dr Jane Kere Imbunya, Principal Secretary for the State Department for Public Service and Human Capital Development, in a move aimed at supporting teaching, learning and research at the institution.
Dr Imbunya, who authored the publications herself, donated on Friday, August 14, 2026. The books cover education, curriculum development, teaching and learning, and research, with titles including Constructivism: Its Implications on Curriculum, Teaching and Learning, Competency-Based Curriculum: Implications on Classroom Teaching and Learning, Research Methods Simplified, and Competency-Based Curriculum Accountability for Kenya’s Career Readiness.

The publications are expected to provide additional reference material for students, lecturers and researchers, particularly on competency-based education, innovative teaching approaches and research methodologies.
The donation was received by MMUST Vice Chancellor Prof Shibairo and handed over to Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic and Student Affairs, Prof Hussein Golicha, before being presented to University Librarian Mr Vincent Chibini.
Speaking during the handover, Dr Imbunya said sharing knowledge was critical to strengthening institutions of higher learning and developing Kenya’s human capital.
“By strengthening access to relevant knowledge, we empower our universities to contribute even more meaningfully to Kenya’s development,” she said.

Prof Shibairo commended Dr Imbunya for the contribution, saying the books would complement the university’s existing academic resources and particularly enhance access to knowledge on competency-based education, pedagogical approaches and research methods.
The university said the materials would be made available to its academic community to support classroom instruction, independent study and scholarly research.
