President William Ruto has said the government is increasing investment in education as part of efforts to prepare young people for the country’s future.
Speaking during the 46th KDF pass-out parade at the Defence Forces Recruit Training School in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County, President Ruto said Kenya’s development depends largely on the quality of its human capital.
He said the government was allocating more resources to education and training to give young Kenyans better opportunities to develop their potential.
“The single most critical asset we have as a nation is our human capital. And that is the reason why we are investing huge resources in education, the training of the children of Kenya.”
The President said the investment includes employing more teachers, expanding learning spaces and improving facilities such as hostels and dormitories.
He also pointed to the introduction of a new model of university education as part of the measures being taken to strengthen the sector.
Ruto said the government was planning to ensure that the next generation is adequately prepared through education and training.

“And the way to ensure that the people of the nation of Kenya are well prepared is through education, training, and college. Therefore, work hard and do your part.”
He assured parents and young Kenyans that the government would continue playing its role in providing the necessary opportunities and facilities.
“I want to assure you, your parents, and the government of Kenya that we will do our part.”
The Head of State reiterated that the government would continue employing teachers, expanding learning infrastructure, implementing the new university funding model and providing accommodation facilities for students.
