Dr. Daniel Wako Murende Technical and Vocational College (TVC) in Busia County has announced the 2026 Sports Talent Trials, offering talented KCSE graduates an opportunity to secure admission and benefit from school fees support through sports.
The institution is inviting young men and women with exceptional sporting abilities to participate in the talent identification exercise scheduled for August 12, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. at the college’s sports grounds.
The programme targets students who have completed their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations but are unable to pursue college education because of financial challenges.
According to the official notice, successful participants will have an opportunity to join the institution under its sports talent programme, with selected students receiving school fees support subject to the college’s terms and conditions.
The college will conduct trials in five disciplines: football, volleyball, handball, athletics and netball.
Organisers say the initiative is aimed at identifying and nurturing talented athletes while enabling them to continue with their technical and vocational education.
Eligibility requirements outlined
To qualify for the trials, applicants must have completed KCSE, possess a valid national identity card or waiting card, demonstrate outstanding sporting talent, meet the institution’s admission requirements and show commitment to both academics and sports.
Candidates are required to report to the venue with their KCSE result slip or certificate, national ID or waiting card, and sports kit, where available.
The college has also provided contact persons for interested applicants seeking more information ahead of the trials.

The sports talent programme is expected to open doors for gifted athletes who may otherwise miss out on higher education because of financial constraints while strengthening the institution’s participation in competitive sports and talent development across the country.
