Musingu High School head coach Brendan Mwinamo has firmly dismissed reports suggesting his team could still make it to the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) National Games in Thika, maintaining that the school’s football program has already moved on after its elimination at the regional championships.
Speaking amid growing speculation surrounding possible changes in the lineup of teams set to compete at the national finals, Mwinamo said Musingu has not pursued any avenue to secure a place in the tournament and is instead concentrating on its league commitments.
“I have no desire to go to Thika. We lost at the regional games, and right now our focus is on playing in the league,” said Mwinamo.
The veteran tactician emphasised that Musingu’s campaign for this year’s school games ended at the Western Region championships and that the team has accepted the outcome.
He noted that no official from the school has contacted organisers or sports authorities seeking inclusion in the national competition.
Mwinamo’s remarks come at a time when discussions have intensified regarding the composition of teams expected to participate in the national games, scheduled to be held in Thika later this month.

With preparations for the National Games gathering pace, Mwinamo’s statement appears aimed at putting to rest speculation surrounding Musingu’s participation and reaffirming the school’s commitment to its current football calendar.
